On Friday 9th February, BDG members descended on the Royal Court Hotel, in Portrush for a night of Night of top-notch food and energetic dancing, to celebrate another hugely successful production!

Photograph by James HislopDuring the Course of the night our famous DAFTA awards were presented to various members for their various comical moments during ‘Whistle down the Wind’.

Ballywillan Drama Group also introduced the ‘Club Member of the Year’ award. This award recognises an individual member of the group who has over the course of the year, showed huge enthusiasm and commitment to the group.

The Winner was Ashling Reynolds, who took the lead role of Swallow in ‘Whistle Down the Wind’. Ashling’s role was particularly demanding as she was on-stage for nearly the entire show and featured in sixteen musical numbers! Living in Belfast and working in Antrim, Ashling always provided the audiences with a truly professional and heartfelt performance, despite her long days travelling around the country. Ashling is definitely due a rest after such a wonderful performance. Congratulations Ashling!
